Calling All Future Engineers!
We open our doors for our future talent every year to look for our stars of the future and this year we will reopen in late October 2024 for our 2025 Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme. We are the largest train operating company in the UK with more passengers, more people and more trains than anyone else in the country.
Engineering is a major part of our business, so if you like to know how things work; take them apart and put them back together again, then maybe the engineering life is for you. Our engineering programmes run in selected locations across London, Hornsey and Brighton. Our programmes include finding out about a unit’s full life cycle when it is not in service, the importance of maintaining, tracking and looking after our fleet daily.

In the depot, you’ll learn a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic skills. You’ll learn fault-finding, testing, maintenance and repair, all backed-up by college study to make sure that everything makes sense.
We’re not looking for previous knowledge or experience of engineering or the railway – just commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
